Matteo Luvisi, in the FAEMS by Ebimotors Porsche shared with Pietro Delli Guanti, took pole ahead of Race 2 in Paul Ricard. The young Italian pair, yesterday penalized by a carried-over grid penalty, will have today a good opportunity to reduce the gap in the standings with their direct rivals. Jurriaan De Back, who leds the standings with Paul Meijer in the HWM Porsche, will start today from seventh position.
Sharing first row with Luvisi will be GT veteran Fabio Babini (Tsunami RT), only 0s270 behind. In row 2, the fastest of the Am drivers, Dieter Svepes (LMR, +0s389) and Niccolò Schirò (ZRS, +0s507).
Local star Enzo Joulié, in the debuting Porsche entered by his teammate Stéphane Perrin, qualified an excellent fifth (+0s731) and will share third row with Hans Wijs (HWM, +1s028).
