Spanish GT Champions Barambio-García join the GT Cup Europe with GT Corse

There will be an important new entry from Spain in the 2026 GT Cup Europe: reigning Spanish GT champions Alejandro Barambio and Borja García will step up to the European stage with their Porsche 992 Cup prepared and entered by GT Corse.

The package stormed the national GT series in 2025, taking eight wins in ten races and the title. They also won the 2025 and 2024 editions of the Spanish Endurance GT series (CER GT).

Alejandro Barambio (31), from Cuenca has successfully made a switch from karting to GT racing in 2023, while Valencia-born Borja García (43) resumed racing in 2024, after being a GP 2 and World Series 3.5 by Renault star in his heydays and winning the GT Sport-promoted Spanish F.3 Championship back in 2004.

“After doing well on the national scene”, said Barambio, “we are ready to take the challenge of going onto the European scene. It will be a big step, given the level of the GT Cup Europe and the fight with cars from other brands, but I am personally excited about discovering the great Europen tracks. Having a great driver such as Borja at my side gives me full confidence.”
