Patrinicola-Demarchi (Mertel Ferrari) take Race 2 at Hockenheim

Simone Patrinicola and Luca Demarchi took their second win of the season today in Race 2 at Hockenheim. The Italian pair at the wheel of the Mertel Motorsport Ferrari 296 Challenge had a trouble-and faultless performance, just like in Spa. “It seems that Saturdays are not our days and Sundays, yes!”, they joked after the race.

The Italian duo beat country-fellows Pietro Armanni and Ludovico Longoni (ZRS Motorsport Porsche), who reduced to 17 the points gap in the standings with respect to Luca Franca-Ian Rodriguez (FAEMS Porsche), today seventh.

The overall podium was completed by Lars Zaenen-Gonçalo Fernandes, the pair of Q1 Trackracing.

Winners in Pro-Am and fourth overall, Brazil’s Peter Ferter and Diego Nunes (LMR Porsche) who preceeded in the class the Burgers Motorsport HWM car of Laura van den Hengel, who recovered well from yesterday’s drama and now lead the class standings. Third, Nico Saelens-Stienes Longin (Q1 Trackracing Porsche).

Another who recovered well from yesterday was Argentine Fran Viel Bugliotti, who took the win in the Am class in the GDL Racing Porsche, ahead of Leandro Martins-Dieter Svepes (LMR Porsche) and Giacomo Giubergia (GDL Racing Porsche), who took his maiden podium.

Pietro Armanni was in pole but was passed at first corner by Patrinicola, and later also by Babini, with Luvisi and Svepes preceeding Ferter. After the driver changes, Demarchi was leading with a 6-second gap on Scannicchio, followed by Longin, Martins, Zaenen, Nunes, Larini and Bugliotti.

With Scannicchio dropping in the order, Longoni and Zaenen climbed up in the podium positions, with Nunes fourth and Bugliotti fifth, while Meijer completed the Burgers Porsche charge from the back to finish sixth after a nice final duel with Rodriguez.
