Paul Meijer and Jurriaan De Back are the 2026 Champions of the GT Cup Europe. Protagonists throughout the season, the Dutch pair in the HWM Motorsport Porsche did not lose their temper. A second position was enough to win the season-long duel with the FAEMS Team by Ebimotors other Porsche of Matteo Luvisi and Pietro Delli Guanti, today fourth at the end of a race 2 characterized by two safety car periods. “It’s been a tough season and a great duel”, said the new champions, “We can be proud of what we achieved as a team.”

The race was won by Johnny Kaminskey, the American young gun, who doubled yesterday’s success in the AF Corse Ferrari and also took pole position. The 18-year-old made a strong impression and was clearly elated with his racing debut in Europe: “I enjoyed the GT Cup tremendously, and these will be life-lasting memories”.
Finishing third overall and first in Am, Leandro Martins and Dieter Svepes (LMR Motorsport) won the four-way battle for the Am title, their third in a row.
Crowned in Pro-Am yesterday, Alejandro Barambio and Borja García, in the GT Corse Porsche, won the race in front of their fans, beating Flávio Sampaio-Bernanrdo Pinheiro (LMR) and Estonia’s Alex Reimann-Keijo Kaasik (EST1 Racing).

THE RACE – At the start, poleman and yesterday’s winner Johnny Kaminskey pulls away easily ahead of Luvisi, Reiman, Gagliardini, Barambio, De Back, Massa, Martinelli and Giubergia. Jouffret is trapped in the sand after some first-lap rubbing, which prompts the safety car out.
At restart, two laps later, Kaminskey keeps the advantage while Reimann takes second from Luvisi, with Gagliardini, Barambio, Martinelli, Stifter and De Back, who has dropped to eighth. At the same time, there is a contact between Stifter and Massa, with the latter spinning into the sand trap.
The driver change window opens in lap 11 with De Back among the first ones to stop. After all stops, Kaminskey leads by one second on Svepes and Meijer, and four on Stifter (who is driving alone), Pedrini, Schömer, García, Leonov and Delli Guanti, who starts charging back.
There is a contact between Monteiro and Vandierendonck, but more importantly, Oriola ends his race in the sand. The rescue of the Ferrari requires the intervention of the safety car and a long neutralization, which leaves only three race laps up to the end, with Delli Guanti storming up to fourth. Not enough to change the course of things, with Meijer securing second and the title.
In the Am fight, the third overall and the class win conquered by Svepes meant the class title, with Leonov finishing second in the race ahead of Van Zijverden.
