On home soil and during the first-ever visit of the series to Misano, Simone Iaquinta took pole ahead of Race 1. In perfect weather and track conditions, the driver of the ZRS Motorsport Porsche shared with Ludovico Longoni posted a time of 1.35.036.
It was though a 20-minute qualifying session disturbed by two red flag interruptions, which cost dearly to Pietro Delli Guanti (FAEMS Team by Ebimotors), who was leading up to the second restart and eventually finished second, 0s270 behind Iaquinta.
The first red flag was exposed mid-session, s the LMR car of Leandro Martins, which had gearbox problems since the beginning of the weekend, stopped in turn 7 with a big oil leak. The session was resumed but interrupted again when Allesandri’s Target Ferrari got also stranded. With one minute left on the clock, the session was not resumed.
In second row this afternoon will be the best Pro-Am performer Borja García 5GT Corse, +1s002) and Ludovico Laurini (BiRace Motorsport, +1s006), while championship leader Jurriaan De Back (HWM, +1s198) will be in third, with Matteo Martinelli (FAEMS by Ebimotors, +1s325) next to him.
The best Ferrari 296 Challenge, the one of Zanasi, was seventh (+1s388) and Hans Wijs (HWM Porsche) was the fastest Am car, in eighth overall.
