Luvisi-Delli Guanti (FAEMS by Ebimotors) respond with win in Race 2

The response arrived swiftly: Matteo Luvisi and Pietro Delli Guanti, in the FAEMS by Ebimotors Porsche, won Race 2 at Spa-Francorchamps, beating their direct rivals Jurriaan De Back-Paul Meijer (HWM Motorsport), confirming the two pairs as the strongest so far this season and the main candidates to the title. The Dutch pair now leads the standings with ten points over the Italian duo.

In another cold and humid day in the Ardennes, Lodovico Longoni and Simone Iaquinta took third to give ZRS Motorsport its first podium finish of the season.

In the classes, the winning pairs of yesterday repeated their success, with Alejandro  Barambio-Borja García (GT Corse) in Pro-Am and Hans Wijs-Rick Van Zijverden (HWM Motorsport) in Am.

Matteo Luvisi was sitting in pole, for the second time this season, with Evgenii Leonov next to him. At the start, the young Italian kept the advantage, while the Russian was immediately hit by some technical issue, dropping positions. Luvisi’s lead, though, was short-lived as Laurini passed him in the opening lap. Svepes was third ahead of Navarrete, De Back, Longoni and Barros.

Some drops of rain affected the race now and then, but the track was never really wet. After the driver changes, Delli Guanti had a lead of 10 seconds on Iaquinta, 12 on Martinelli, then Pedrera, Pedrini, Wijs, Meijer and Stifner.

The last part of the race was thrilling with Iaquinta closing on Delli Guanti, but never in a position to threaten him, while Meijer charged furiously from the back to finish a close second, thanks also to a safety car period in the closing laps. As the track became more and more slippery, Barros and Leonov had a scary moment, and shortly after Sampaio and Martinelli went off-track. The Brazilian lost the first position in ProAm built earlier by Pinheiro, leaving free way to García and Salubre. In Am, Wijs won over de Mello and Martins.
