Paul Meijer signed another pole, his third this year, in the qualifying session ahead of Race 1 in Monza, in a bright late-summer morning. The Dutchman of Hans Wijs Motorsport posted a time of 1.47.001, beating ‘Wolfe’, the surprising American racer in the debuting Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini, by 0s400.
Meijer’s top rival for the championship, Pietro Delli guanti in the FAEMS Team by Ebimotors Porsche, was third 0s536 behind. He will share second row with Simone Iaquinta (+0s704) in the ZRS Motorsport Porsche.
Borja García (GT Corse, +0s914) was fifth and fastest in Pro-Am, sharing third row with Lodovico Laurini (BiRace Motorsport, +1s158).
Hans Wijs (HWM) topped the Am class and was seventh overall.
